New Year, New You: Diet Dilemma
Oh boy, this is a topic I can’t wait to sink my teeth into. Could be that is just the excitement of two cups of coffee kicking in? Probably not, ask Weston, I love to talk about food. Sometimes I dream about what I would do if I wasn’t a teacher. In an alternate universe where I actually had the training to do it, I would love be to be a dietician or nutritionist. Here also is the disclaimer that I do NOT have the training to be either or these things, so feel free to take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt. Stop making New Year’s Resolutions to lose weight. Here’s why I hate this resolution: If your focus is weight loss, you are focusing on the wrong thing. I’m just going to throw this out there, you will never keep weight off if being skinny is your only motivation. I know, I know, people love to say “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels,” but that’s just wrong. If you really want to make a good resolution for yourself, make your goal to be healthier. Becaus...
